Oasis Forge respects your privacy. This policy explains what data the game “Tide Trader” handles, why, and what you can do about it. The game has no accounts and never asks for your name, email or contacts. You can open this page from inside the game: Settings → Privacy policy.
The game keeps these on your phone. They are erased when you delete the game or clear its data, and we have no access to them:
The game sends Google Firebase Analytics events such as a trade, a voyage, a battle’s result or a story step, with numbers from the game (the week, the silver won). Firebase also records when the game is opened, how long it is played, and purchases (what was bought and its price). We use these numbers to see where players get stuck and to balance the game.
They are sent with an install ID that Firebase makes for this installation of the game; Settings shows it. It is not your name, your email or your phone number, and the statistics don’t use your phone’s advertising ID. Firebase also records your phone’s model, Android version, language and approximate country, worked out from its internet address.
It is your choice. The game sends no statistics or crash reports until it knows what you chose.
If the game crashes or hits an error, Google Firebase Crashlytics sends a report: what the game was doing, the phone’s model and Android version, and the same install ID. We use them only to fix the game. They follow the same choice as the statistics (section 2): none are sent when Share play statistics is off.
The game asks Google Firebase Remote Config for new game numbers, such as prices, at most twice a day, so we can improve the game without a new version. This sends an ID for this installation, the phone’s Android version and its country. It does not depend on the Share play statistics switch, because the game needs it to run with its latest numbers.
Some rewards can be earned by watching an ad: a free round in the tavern, a free repair at the shipyard, or getting back what a storm took. An ad plays only when you tap a button that offers one, a few times a day at most. There are no banners and no ads between screens.
Google AdMob shows these ads, through Google’s ad library in the game. Where the law requires it, such as in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, the game first shows Google’s consent form, where you choose whether ads may be personalised. You can change your choice at any time in Settings → Privacy options. The game asks for ads only when Google’s consent step says it may.
To show ads, count them and stop fraud, Google’s ad library collects, as Google describes it:
What we get from AdMob is totals only: how many ads were shown and what they earned. Nothing in it says who you are.
The Captain’s Pass is bought through Google Play. Google handles the payment, and we never see your payment details. We learn what was bought and its price, so the game can give it to you, restore it if you reinstall, and count sales in its statistics.
The game makes purchases with Unity In-App Purchasing. When you start, complete or fail a purchase, it sends Unity Technologies a purchase report: the product, its price and currency, the order ID and store receipt, your phone’s model, operating system and language, and when the game was installed. Unity uses these reports for analytics and to prevent fraud. They are sent whether or not Share play statistics is on, because they are part of making the purchase.
Tide Trader is made with Unity, and uses no Unity Ads or Unity Analytics. Apart from the purchase reports in section 6, the Unity engine may still send Unity Technologies limited technical information about the phone, such as its model and operating system; that includes nothing you do or type in the game. Unity’s Game Player and App User Privacy Policy explains what Unity collects and why.
On Android the game uses internet access and network state (for the statistics, crash reports, remote settings, ads and purchases), billing (for Google Play purchases) and vibration (for haptics). Google’s libraries add a few for their own work: keeping the phone awake for a moment (wake lock), running a short task while the game is in the background (foreground service), and knowing how the game was installed (the install referrer). The advertising ID and Android’s own ad services are used only by the ads, as you choose in the consent form. The game has no access to your location, contacts, photos, files, camera or microphone.
Google, as our service provider, runs Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, Firebase Remote Config and AdMob, and handles purchases through Google Play, under the Google Privacy Policy and Firebase’s privacy terms. How Google uses information from apps that use its services explains more. Unity Technologies receives the purchase reports in section 6, under its own privacy policy (section 7). Google’s and Unity’s servers may be in a different country from yours. Data travels over encrypted connections. We don’t sell your data, and we use it only to run and improve the game.
Tide Trader is meant for players 13 and over and isn’t directed at children. We don’t knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has used the game, contact us and we will delete their data.
If what the game handles changes, we will update this page before the change reaches the game. Any change appears here with a new effective date.
