Privacy Policy — “QR Scanner + Generator”

Oasis Forge respects your privacy. This policy explains what data the “QR Scanner + Generator” app handles and how it is used. By using the app, you agree to the following.

1. Data we collect

We do not collect any personal data. The app requires no sign-in and no account, and it sends no information about you to our servers — because we run no server. Everything the app keeps is stored locally on your device and is erased when the app is removed or its data is cleared:

History: the content of codes you scan and codes you create — text, links, Wi-Fi network names and passwords, contact and event details — with the dates. Wi-Fi passwords stay hidden until you tap to reveal them. You can turn off saving history in Settings, and delete items at any time.
Trash: items you delete stay in Trash for 30 days, then the app removes them.
Settings and purchases: your theme, language, sound, vibration, copy-on-scan and save-history choices, your ad consent choice, and whether you own the “Remove ads” purchase.
Never stored: the camera image, or the photo you picked a code from. The app keeps only the decoded content.

Android backup: if backup is turned on for your Google account, Android may include the app’s stored data in your device backup, which Google stores and which you control from your device settings. We cannot access that backup.

Messages you send us: the app can prepare an email to us with your feedback, where you can see and edit everything in it — including the app version and your Android version — and it is sent only if you send it. We use what you send only to reply to you and to fix problems.

2. Advertising

The app displays banner ads through Google AdMob, and only at the bottom of the History list, the Settings screen and the “Create” type picker. It also shows one full-screen ad after you save or share a code you created, at most once each time you open the app, and never in place of the confirmation that your code was saved. There are never ads on the camera, on a scan result, or while you create a code. To serve ads, Google and its partners may collect:

your Advertising ID and other device identifiers;
your IP address, which may be used to estimate your approximate location;
your interactions with the app and its ads, such as app launches and taps;
diagnostic information, such as app launch time and how often the app freezes.

This data is used for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention, and is governed by Google’s privacy policies:

3. Your ad choices

Where the law requires consent (for example in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland), the app shows Google’s consent form and waits for your choice before requesting any ad. If consent cannot be resolved, no ads are shown at all. You can change your choice at any time in Settings → Privacy options; this option appears wherever consent is required. You can also reset or delete your Advertising ID, or opt out of personalised ads, in your device’s settings. The same Settings screen links to this policy.

4. In-app purchases

The app offers one optional purchase: removing ads, once and for good — never a subscription. It is processed entirely by Google Play under your Google account — we never see your card or payment details. The app keeps a note on your device that you bought it, so ads stay off even offline, and checks your past purchases with Google Play so they can be restored on a new device. Payments are governed by Google Play’s terms and the Google Privacy Policy.

5. What leaves your device, and only when you ask

Reading codes: codes are read on your phone by Google’s ML Kit, which runs entirely on the device. It never sends the camera image, the photo, or what a code contains, but it does send Google usage and performance statistics about the reader itself, such as how long a read took and the device model. Checking links: a scanned link is checked on your device alone. The app does not contact the link, or us, to check it.
Opening and sharing: opening a link hands it to your browser. Saving a code writes it where you choose. Sharing a code or text, calling, messaging, emailing, saving a contact or an event, and opening a map each hand the details to the app you pick for it. Nothing goes anywhere until you tap.

6. Permissions

Camera: to read codes. It is asked for the first time you tap “Allow camera”. If you refuse, you can still read a code from a photo or type it in.
Internet and network state: to load ads, show Google’s consent form, make purchases through Google Play, and send ML Kit’s usage statistics.
Google Play billing: only to make the purchase you choose.
Advertising ID, ad topics and ad measurement: used by the ads SDK. You can turn these off in your device’s settings.
Background tasks: the ads SDK’s scheduling library declares that it may keep the device awake briefly and run a foreground service. The app does not scan, read codes or track you in the background.

The app does not ask for permission to read your photos: Android’s photo picker gives it only the photo you choose. It does not ask for contacts, calendar, location or storage permissions.

7. Children

The app is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect any data from them.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when we add new features (such as crash reports, export and backup in a future version). Any change will appear on this page with an updated effective date.
